April came and went in the blink of an eye, and now we are fully into the spring season! This past month was fueled by lots of different things, but always edgy looks. I embraced statement pieces, dark florals, and dark academia. It was also a month of simply trying new things that may or may not go together! The weather has gotten warmer, but the layers are here to stay. Take a closer look at the outfits I wore in April!

1. Mixing & Matching

I started off April strong with a look that was all about mixing and matching. It’s important to do your own research, aka, test how your own clothes work together on your body! And when in doubt? Embrace the chaos of your outfit!
2. A New Way to Tuck

Speaking of trying out new things, this grunge outfit experimented with a new way to tuck in your flannel shirts! As seen above and in this blog post, you button the bottom half of your shirt, only tucking in the bottom half. This exposes the top underneath and gives off a cool, undone vibe!
3. Sheer Top Showcase

It’s no secret I’m obsessed with sheer tops, so it’s not surprise to find one in my spring roundup! Sheer and mesh tops may scare you, but once you embrace them you’ll never go back. The possibilities are endless as to what you can wear under and over them, and I show you how in my latest sheer top blog post!
4. Embracing Bold Patterns

Bold patterns can be fun, but also intimidating. But if you lean into it and make your patterns the star of the show, you might be surprised at how you’ll feel about them! I was hesitant about this bold pattern paired with bright colors, but it was an instant hit with the rest of my all-black ensemble. Read more about this look!
5. Grunge Streetwear

Sometimes we forget that grunge can be mixed with other subgenres, and this outfit is a perfect example. It’s giving casual, laid back streetwear but with a slight grunge twist. Check out all of the details of this essential outfit!
6. Spring Dark Academia

Florals for spring is not revolutionary. However, for the dark academia girlies it’s less common. It can be hard to find clothes with a dark floral vibe, but this top hit the mark. It’s everything a spring dark academia fit should be!
7. Playful Energy

Being a moody, more dark-leaning babe tends to show up in my outfits, too. This tendency has me gravitating to dark colors and sometimes, I can forget to play with other colors, too. I love this outfit because it plays with a blue button-down and a beige crop vest. It’s always good to be a little playful and try something different!
8. Grunge to the Max

On the other end of the spectrum, I’ve got an outfit that is grunging out to the max! This is the outfit for when you’re feeling moody, or like the badass that you are. It’s a take no shit look, and it’ll make your grunge heart happy.
9. “Too Much” Vibes in the Best Way

Have you ever been told you’re “too much”? If so, the only option is to embrace it! Be “too much”! People who get old this typically express themselves fully and are open for doing and trying new things. And personally, I’d rather be someone who’s “too much” anyway. Lean into the vibe like I did with this expressive outfit!
10. Edgy Statement Piece

A grunge girl needs an edgy statement piece, am I right?? Sometimes you need an item that just completely steals the show, and this if that one item of clothing. It’ll make you the main character and we all need a main character moment sometimes!
11. Killer Knee High Boots

Just like every grunge girl needs a statement piece, so does she need a great pair of knee high boots! They can level up an outfit, and are perfect for strutting down the street wherever you are. I can’t stop wearing this pair because they make me feel so good and they’re actually made for walking!
