If you find yourself drawn to feminine silhouettes as well as edgier fits, you’re in the right place! Playing with these two styles is all in what balance feels good for you, but here’s my method.
Let’s start from the bottom up, shall we? Shoes. I am a big chunky and platform shoes girl. I don’t ever really lean into shoes that feel super feminine or delicate, so for me, one of the edgier pieces will almost always be my footwear. I’ve noticed most people who lean more towards grunge or alternative style tend to love edgier footwear, but if you’re the opposite, you can always interchange elements!
Now for the bottoms. The formula I go for is either edgier bottom + feminine top or feminine bottom + edgier top. If both top and bottom are leaning more feminine, or I’m wearing a dress, I like to make sure my accessories or outerwear are on the edgier side.
That’s why you see me in this outfit sporting an oversize black denim sherpa jacket. It’s got more of a rebellious feel to it that balances well with the more feminine top, skort, and tights. This is the type of blend I love because it allows me to feel cute but also like I’m not someone to be messed with.
Do you follow this type of formula? What makes an edgy & feminine outfit work for you?
