Edgy feminine may very well be the sweet spot when it comes to style. I love a look that says, “I’m sweet, but try to hurt me and you’ll be sorry.” That’s potentially how I live my life, because well, we can’t be TOO sweet. We’ve got to sprinkle in some edge and rebellion and sass, am I right?? We have layers to us, and showcasing the complexity that we are inside is something that’s so cool to me.
I leaned into more of a grunge look on the bottom half, with snake tights and combat boots, with a y2k feminine feel on the top portion of the outfit. And I absolutely love this contrast. Personally, I want to bring back more hat-wearing into our culture, like this newsboy or baker boy hat! They’re fun and pair so well with so many various styles, like this edgy feminine outfit!
What I’m Wearing
Newsboy Cap: This is a hat I could probably wear with every outfit, just because it makes me feel cool! And I think if you feel cool in something, it’s definitely a winner. I believe I found this hat at H&M several years ago, but there’s other great hats here!
Brown Halter Top: It’s a whole y2k vibe, and I am loving it! This was one of my great thrifts finds (but when aren’t they great though??), and I’ll be wearing this a ton this fall. I’ve got similar halter tops linked here!
Black Mini Skirt: If you’ve read any of my other posts, you know most of my skirts are actually skorts. This one is no different! There are indeed shorts underneath, and they just make a mini skirt feel that much more comfortable. Although this one was thrifted, there are other great skirts linked.
Snake Tights: Every grunge babe needs some fun and edgy tights! I’m a big fan of these because of the snake design, and they definitely add lots of edge to this outfit. You can find these same tights on Amazon.
Black Combat Boots: While these no longer need an introduction, you know I’ve got to talk about them! You can’t be a grunge girl without SOME sort of combat-style boots. I didn’t make the rules! I found these on ASOS a while back, but there are so many great boots to choose from, like the ones you can see here.
