Soft Grunge Meets Vintage French in this Bardot-Inspired Look

I bet you’d never think these two types of styles would go together, would you? Well, now you do. They fit together so well, in fact, I was shocked at just how much I loved this soft grunge and vintage french look! Inspired by Brigitte Bardot, a ’50s and ’60s French icon, this outfit has the best of both worlds–edgy, yet somehow just as romantic.

I love to delve into music both old and new, and once I discovered Brigitte Bardot and other French singers from this era, I was hooked. The music has a certain flair, and in this outfit I tried to capture a classic French feel while remaining true to the need for a soft grunge and edgy vibe.

Vintage Blazer: Aka the star of the show! I am forever obsessed with blazers, especially this black and white houndstooth blazer I thrifted several years ago. It’s been one of my favorite pieces of clothing for quite some time, and I hope you can see why! A blazer like this is just so versatile, fun, and unique! What’s not to love? You can find similar blazers here.

Black Waist Belt: This is the piece that brings the soft grunge and vintage French look together. The belt cinches the waist, making it appear more feminine and romantic. But it gets a bit edgier with the belt’s appearance and that I have left my blazer open enough to have a long v-neck. Mom might not approve, but I certainly do! I thrifted this belt a couple weeks ago, but you can find other great belts here!

Sage Tiered Ruffle Maxi Skirt: These types of maxi skirts have been TRENDING this summer, there’s no doubt about that. While this piece of clothing doesn’t typically match my style, I wanted to incorporate different pieces into my outfits as well! It adds just the touch of romantic that this outfit needed. I picked mine up from Ragstock, but I’ve got others linked for you!

Black Combat Boots: You can never go wrong with a classic, and this outfit needed this grunge element! I think I love my shoes to be on the edgier side! I don’t love a dainty shoe, give me all the platform, chunky, and statement shoes! These are from ASOS a few years ago, but you can find similar styles and classic Docs linked.
