Skyrocket Your Confidence in a Laidback Grunge Look

Confidence comes from the inside, but it also comes from the outside, too. What we wear affects how we feel, thus affecting our confidence in any given situation. Why do you think we have the term “power blazer” and wear specific clothing in specific situations? Because it gives us the confidence to participate in whatever the event or situation calls for!

I believe that we should all be confident in what we wear. I love how expressing yourself in a unique way, that’s totally you btw, can bring out a level of confidence that you might not otherwise have. Clothing and style is empowering, and I want to inspire you to wear (or keep wearing) clothes that give you a confidence boost!

If you know your own style, what is it? I’d love to see and hear about your journey and what you’re loving right now! If you’re still figuring out what your style is, what are you having trouble with? What pieces stick out to you at this point in time? Our style can change and grow over time, just like mine has! I realized that I love a more edgy and grungy style, and now I’m into anything that feels a bit rebellious!

Speaking of my style, this laidback grungy look is giving me MAJOR confidence. You can tell in my body language! I feel edgy and sexy and cute, which are all the major positives of a great outfit! It’s a outfit I’d wear out with friends to dinner or a night out, and it’s something I feel great in.

Don’t Worry, I’ll Give You the Deets!

Black Turtleneck Long-Sleeve Crop: When you think of turtlenecks and warm winter clothes, you may feel that a crop top has the opposite desired effect. However, I just can’t get away from a good crop top. This is just the fall/winter edition! Plus, when you’ve got layers, a crop top can still be warm! Check out some of the long-sleeve crop tops I’ve shared on my LTK.

Black & Brown Oversize Flannel: There’s nothing more grunge than a good flannel shirt, ladies and gentlemen! It’s the ultimate grunge attire, well, besides a good pair of combat boots. But I’m living for the turtleneck and flannel combo-the perfect pairing for the cold winter months as a grunge girl. I purchased this particular flannel from a local store, but I’ve shopped around and found some other great styles!

Khaki Cargo Skort: I love cargo everything and this skort is no different. While the men’s cargo shorts have given cargo a bad rep, I’m alllllll about cargo in fashion. It’s fun. It’s edgy. It adds texture to solid and basic fits, so it’s a win in my book! As you may already know, I’m also a fan of skorts. Skorts give me the confidence of knowing there’s something underneath (aka there’s no chance of my tush hanging out!), so catch me in skorts 95% of the time! This skort in particular is thrifted, but I’ve linked similar styles here.

Black Knee-High Boots: Every grunge girl needs a good pair of knee-high boots. Period. They add a bit of class (and sass if I’m being honest!) to an outfit that is hard to replicate. The mini skirt + knee high boot combo is a thing for a reason! We love it and we love to see it. This pair is my FAV and my go-to knee-high boot, which I snagged from Steve Madden. Keep in mind that if you have what I would consider normal or large calves, go with the wide calf option like I did!

Tall Boot Socks: You can’t wear your knee-high boots without a good pair of tall boot socks, now can you? I found these frilly and fun socks from Amazon, and they were just the detail this laidback grunge look needed!
