Depending on where you went to school, there’s a chance you might have worn a school uniform! While I never had to, I always thought it would have been cool to wear one. I often saw the signature preppy look portrayed in movies and shows (hello, Gossip Girl). Even though school uniforms were meant to unify and equalize everyone, I’ve always loved seeing people add their own flair to it. In my own edition of the school uniform, I added a chunky shoe to the mix with some mint-colored ankle socks for a preppy grunge look.
This look, sans blazer, is also a bit rebellious with a subtly pinstriped strapless top! And the best part? This pleated skirt is actually a skort (but you would never know), which means you can feel comfortable doing anything. I used to hate wearing skirts because I was afraid of not being able to move much, but these days, skorts are all the rage. There’s something so freeing about a skort! Feel cute and get things done? It’s a win-win!
