Some things in life that are created become classics and because of that, truly never go out of style. The newsboy hat, or cabbie or baker boy hat, is one such thing. You can add a newsboy hat to almost any outfit and bam, instant coolness! I’ve been a huge fan of this hat for many years and frankly, I don’t think it’s appreciated enough.
Which brings me to my next point. We, as a society, don’t wear enough hats! At least here in the U.S. Hats are often cool and funky but it’s almost as if people are afraid to wear them because they don’t want to stand out. Unless it’s a baseball cap, that is one hat everyone is wearing!
So let’s bring back the newsboy cap, men and women, because it is just everything you could ever ask for in a hat. It’s got something about it! Here I’m wearing it with a very casual look in ripped jeans and two mock neck tops layered on top of each other. I also added a button-down tied around my waist and chunky sneakers to round out the edgy or grunge elements.
