I recently spent some time thrifting at my local Goodwill, and instead of going to the racks of blouses and “nicer” tops, I decided to dig through the t-shirt racks. While there, I found a couple of awesome band tees, like this one and a Blondie t-shirt.
It got me thinking, “Who’s getting rid of such great band tees?!” There’s a sort of stigma that your band tees are a sign of youth and young rebellion and that, by a certain age, they’re no longer deemed appropriate.
That’s because giving up our band tees means “growing up.”
But like Anna in Freaky Friday, I “Don’t wanna grow up, I wanna get out.” Who wants to actually be and adult? Well okay, maybe it’s nice sometimes. There’s something to be said about growing up and becoming a mature, well rounded adult.
That doesn’t have to mean giving up your band tees, though! Growing up doesn’t have to look like your parents version of growing up, nor does it have to fit any type of standard.
You don’t have to fit into any type of standard.
Your 20s don’t have to look a certain way, and neither do your 30s, 40s, or any other age grouping. You get this one life. Don’t spend it trying to be something that you’re “supposed” to be at any given age. And if you want to rock a band tee and wear grunge outfits, this is your sign!

The snake tights were a great purchase from Amazon (I’ve used them several times now). There’s a couple other tight options as well as great socks because you can never have enough warm boot socks!
