I’m SO in love with this outfit. It’s fun and cute with a hint of grunge or edginess! A little black dress is a staple in every woman’s closet (IMO) and obviously I’m a huge fan of this babydoll-style LBD! And can I just say, this is the absolute best dress to wear if you don’t want to wear anything fitted for whatever reason–you don’t have to worry about the tummy bloating if you go out and eat lots of carbs (totally not speaking from experience or anything)!
For this look I pulled out one of my favorite pairs of shoes-my black platform heels. I was OBSESSED when I saw these and bought them (while I was out of the country, sorry no exact links), and they’ve been a godsend in my wardrobe. I enjoy a high heel, but I don’t like my feet to be hurting all night. Enter the platform heel. While platform heels can look very different, I’m talking about platforms that are platforms across the whole shoe (aka no big arch). I’ve found that not only do I LOVE the look of this type of platform, but my feet don’t hurt as bad because there’s a low arch.
I dressed up this little black dress a bit by wearing knee-high tights and a sheer top underneath. And to my own dismay, I even added a cute little bow in my hair! I am not a bow person, but this fit is balancing along the lines of edgy and cute so it was a must!
I believe the key to fashion and styling is all about having fun with what you wear and feeling good. That’s why I’m so passionate about style and emphasizing all the things you can do with the clothes you already own!
