I’ve been really into mixing soft grunge and dark academia together recently. Why? Because it’s the ultimate moody outfit combo! I can’t get enough.
Mixing these two categories says cute and a little preppy but with attitude. And I know you’ve got attitude if you’re a grunge girl! There’s a sweet spot between the edgy and chic, and I always tow that line.
What makes this outfit work?
This grunge and dark academia outfit is all about the statement button-down. And when you add a cropped vest over the top it becomes a bit more academic. The look also plays with neutral tones and feel less edgy than a grungier fit.
The platform boots keep it edgy and interesting, and of course, we’ve kept the wrinkles in the wide-leg pants! The button-down shirt is left loose and untucked, with even a little bit of tummy showing for a carefree, slightly rebellious vibe.
