Say hello to your new favorite combo–the deconstructed shirt and tie! If you’ve never thought about adding a tie to your wardrobe and outfits, let this be your sign! A tie is a fun way to spice up an outfit, as well as take a traditionally masculine accessory and use it in a different way.
With this outfit I chose to wrap the tie once around my neck, the way I would a scarf. The tie brings a new element to it, however, especially paired with a white button-down shirt such as this. It’s a playful, sexy way to update classic and timeless pieces!
I chose to wear my white shirt a bit undone and wore it more off the shoulder. That’s what I love about an oversize shirt, you can play with the styling of it to suit your mood! For the bottoms, I grabbed my black midi pencil skirt and styled it with my chunky Oxford shoes and filly socks. Knee-high tights were added to the mix as well!

Black Midi Skirt: Midi skirts are all the rage, and this black option is a great choice for the colder months. It’s a bit thicker, so it’ll be sure to keep you warm! This skirt can easily be taken up a notch into something more upscale or a more casual vibe as well, such as with sneakers. All in all, a great addition to your wardrobe.
Black Chunky Oxford Shoes: These shoes scream dark academia, and I’m all about it. Plus, the chunky style gives it a grunge take on a classic shoe. They’re different and bold, all the things a grunge girl is. Snag a pair of them if you haven’t already!
White Frilly Socks: You may not think about socks all that often, but they can really surprise you. These white frilly socks tie the outfit together, IMO, and I can’t imagine this look without them! You’re gonna want some for your grunge looks as well.
Black Knee-High Tights: Every grunge babe needs tights, especially knee-high tights. Because sometimes, you just don’t want or need to wear a full set of black tights. Plus, knee-highs can add that bit of sexiness to a look that you may be going for. They’re a win in my book.
