The Men’s Tie: Your New Favorite Accessory

You may have seen men’s ties as a statement scarf, but have you seen men’s ties as belts? I recently saw this idea pop up scrolling social media one day, and immediately knew I had to try it in my own way. I’m not a huge belt person, but a tie as a belt?! Count me in!

I love how it adds a super cool element to a look. It really does make a statement, if you will. This look is giving y2k from head to toe, from the newsboy cap (turned backwards) and plaid sheer top right down to the velvet pants and combat boots! Frankly, it’s everything you could ever need or want in a cool girl fit!

What do you think of wearing a men’s tie as a belt? Would you try wearing a tie in other ways, too? Let me know what you think the comments!

The Devil’s in the Details

Newsboy Cap: While I love this style of hat worn as it should be, I decided to try and mix it up by wearing it backwards. And honestly, it’s just as much of a vibe! Fashion is all about experimenting and mixing it up, and that’s what I’d encourage you to do if you can! Want to find a similar newsboy cap? I’ve linked similar styles!

Plaid Sheer Top: This top was love at first sight, truly. I saw it and immediately knew it was coming home with me. Those are some of the best finds! The clothing finds you, you don’t find the clothing. Plaid is such a grunge staple, and absolutely killer in this look. Looking for something like this? Worry not, I’ve got you covered!

Black Crop Tank: I may seem like a broken record, but a good crop tank in a neutral color like black is such a great basic article of clothing to have. It’s the perfect item to layer with! And you know I’m the biggest fan of layering. If you don’t already have one, I recommend these options!

Men’s Tie: As you can see, this is such an unconventional but versatile accessory! It’ll make you the ultimate it girl to wear it in different ways, such as like this as a belt but also as a scarf as well. Not finding anything you like? Shop for ties here.

Black Velvet Pants: For me, it’s velvet and corduroy season! We’re here for the warm and fun fabrics, which is one of the reasons I love these pants. Event better? they’re the wide-leg pants of my dreams! These were of course thrifted, but I’ve saved some other pants that I love just as much.

Black Combat Boots: The epitome of grunge is the combat boot, so it’s no surprise you’ll catch me styling a great deal of my fits with these boots. You can never go wrong with a solid combat boot! The ones I’m wearing are no longer made, but you can shop other great combat boots I’ve selected on my LTK.
