Every now and then, a grunge girl by heart has to participate in corporate life (I KNOW, sigh). If only we could be our wild and free selves and still be taken seriously. But alas, we live in such a world where professionalism feels like a lack of uniqueness and personality.
While there are times you may need to look professional, that doesn’t mean you have to completely remove your own twist on things! As you can see, this outfit is giving corporate babe but with slight differences. For one, I’m wearing my combat boots which is forever my go-to choice when it comes to shoes. Secondly, I’ve got the trending wide-leg look with a vintage blazer.
I’m always here for a good blazer moment, and this one looks cute and professional at the same time. It’s a win-win for me! This look is still pretty buttoned-up, but I wanted to put together a look that most people would never argue with when it comes to office style. Feel free to add more personal touches, such as jewelry or a fun shirt underneath!

What I’m Wearing
Dark Blue Vintage Blazer: I’ve never met a blazer I didn’t have to have. A good blazer can turn an outfit into a FIT. This look without a blazer? Null. Void. Boring. With a blazer? Now we’re talking! Thrifted is often the way to go for me, as I found this one at a local thrift store, but I’ve got you covered on my LTK!
White Button-Down: Everyone is in need of a white button-down, especially for the office. It’s SO easily dressed up in various ways for corporate grunge girls. All those tops that aren’t work appropriate? Try them with a white button-down underneath and you might have yourself a new work fit! Mine’s thrifted but found originally at Uniqlo.
Grey Wide-Leg Pants: While I love these pants in or out of the office, they are truly a necessity for the corporate world. Plus we love a wide-leg pant that’s just as comfortable as it is cute! Grey is a great neutral color as well, which allows you to add some color in other areas of your outfit, such as your shirts, jackets, and shoes! These pants were found on ASOS a few years back, but there are other great styles here.
Black Combat Boots: When you think of office fits, your combat boots may not come to mind. But they’re a great shoe for the professional world as well! Combat boots combined with office-style attire can give your professional outfit just the bit of edginess it needed. I’m all for it! I’ve shared a collection of great black combat boots at this link.
